That icky word… Accountability
Why do I like fitness challenges?
I’d love a great fitness challenge girlfriend let me tell you!
Some people hate accountability. Some people love accountability.
I am the latter!
When people don’t know what I’m up to, I will let myself off the hook. I am going to be real with you!
It may look like I’m just driven on my own. In certain ways, I am in certain ways I’m not.
I love challenges to not feel alone.
I often joke with my Herbalife clients about it all the time. I feel selfish for wanting to do the workout and clean eating challenges. It’s a way to support them while they are supporting myself. As I’ve said before, a healthy lifestyle journey is just that a journey!
The beauty of challenges is you get to create a tribe. I love my tribe! They are some bomb women, mothers, boss ladies, wives, partners, and individuals. We have busy schedules and are up to changing the world.
With that being said we got a lot on our plate LOL. It can be easy to let everything else go ahead of our health and self-care. Challenges make me feel focus on myself for just a few moments out of the day.
One of my first challenges was a burpee challenge. It was so funny. It came from attending fit camp in Florida and nearly dying from burpee exhaustion. There’s no other way to put it. I felt like I was about to die. He had us do 100 burpees in what it felt like five minutes. If you have ever done burpees, you know why I felt like I was going to die LOL.
Instead of allowing myself to feel discouraged and feeling horrible. I decided to start a challenge to do 25 burpees every day for 30 days. The goal was having a few people join and it turned into something bigger than life. At that very moment, I realize that people wanted to feel connected and a part of something bigger than themselves.
The key with challenges is finding what speaks to you. My goal was having 100 people in our August 50 mile walk-run challenge. We were able to surpass that goal. As I work on the September challenge, I want us to focus on 60 miles walking or running. The new goal is 200 people in this challenge.
My goal with challenges is to help people not feel alone. I remember how it felt wanting to get started on my health journey. It sucked getting my friends to get move it with me. At times, if you feel like a solo journey. I want to play my part in helping others not feel alone.
Even though challenges help me stay focus. I love how it impacts other people lives. It makes my heart smile to see people walking with their kids. It makes my heart smile to hear people feeling confident in their health journey it makes my heart smile to just make a difference.
