Common Mistakes Made in Business
Have you ever wanted someone to share their important lessons learned in business? I recently shared business lessons learned from the event industry on Instagram.
My entrepreneurial journey started way before I can even remember. That may sound corny. Yet, it is true. My mother used to tell stories about how I would help her at her daycare center. Let’s just say that I remember seeing her work both as a teacher and business owner my entire life.
You may not be given the ability to have entrepreneurs in your family. I do not take it for granted in my life. I’m grateful for seeing the ups and downs firsthand. I remember the moments where shopping and not worrying about price tags to eating only Ramen noodles.
The thing about choosing to become an entrepreneur is growth is required to hit new levels. I’ve decided to share my journey with other entrepreneurs and people like YOU!
It’s not about the highlight reel. My purpose is to help to see more people build solid businesses, not hustle until their death. The “Common Mistakes Made in Business” series came out of a great idea to share some basic level oversights. When creating the series, I had to think about giving people tangible steps to level up their business.
On Instagram, I went live to share five different areas that food and event professionals make mistakes. I have made them or some of my coaching clients. Here is the thing… Mistakes will happen when you put yourself on the line. It’s OK! I instead learn a lesson than not taking the step.
Here are the five different episodes discussed:
Lesson #1 - Instagram Bio
Lesson #2 - Improving Engagement
Lesson #3 - Solidifying Local Market
Lesson #4 - Not Automating Systems
Lesson #5 - Hiring and partnerships
Check out the links and bookmark this blog for future reference. I dropped some great tips that can be applied to different industries. Over the week, I did receive great feedback from my audience. People sent direct messages wanting to know more about implementing the tips. It truly inspired me to share more on Instagram lives.
I love to share my lessons learned in business on social media and this blog. I remember the days where the next step did not seem clear. I remember having difficulty finding a coach or business bestie to lean on. If you feel that way, I have been there. I think what makes my platform different is my journey. I’m a business owner that took on coaching instead of a coach that teaches business.
The food and event industry is constantly changing. There are new systems to help with efficiency, ordering, to payment processing. I have made a lot of mistakes along the way. I want to share with you tips to avoid you going through them.
In addition, I had the opportunity to discuss platforms such as Honeybook, Square, and Convertkit. I love using these platforms to help my business grow. The best part is they are all relatively low in cost. You may be on a tight budget. I understand. Computer systems may cost $0-20 per month. Yet, they will save you time and money to showcase your brand in the best way possible.
I look forward to hearing from you on your thoughts. Should I do another week’s series? If so, what should the theme discuss? Comment below.
