Restarting Your Career… I QUIT!!!

Thousands of Americans are facing the decision between finding a new job or changing careers. Restarting your career has difficulties. Continuing your career in a pandemic has another set of challenges.

Never in a million years did I think quitting LuxeGiving was a THING!!!

Not sure you can relate? We can attach identity to our career, status, and esteem. Everyone doesn’t think about their passion, no longer being their passion.

After finding myself dissatisfied and continuously trying to make something work that isn’t working. I had a coming to Jesus moment. It was time to let go!! It was time to stop fighting to hold onto something that God was showing a change.

Finding your passion seems cliché. What does it mean “how to find your passion and purpose”? I was soooo locked in on LuxeGiving, working that I wasn’t open to seeing any other possibilities.

“There is no passion to be found playing small—in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”
— Nelson Mandela

The above video was a candid share amid a mental valley. A career change midlife did not feel fun in the beginning. Now, I’m genuinely excited for a new chapter. The steps provided in the video should help guide you in the right direction,

It’s not TOO late to change careers! You don’t have to stay “busted and disgusted” in your career path. You deserve to have the life that excites you in the morning.

Career Advice Online states:

The average person will change careers 5-7 times during their working life according to career change statistics.

With an ever increasing number of career choices, 30% of the workforce will now change careers or jobs every 12 months.

Once you let go, you can allow space for the new to enter. It’s like holding on to the dress from high school to fit it one day in your 40s. Yes! You can eventually wear the clothing with hard work and consistency. The question is, “will you want to wear it?” or “does that dress serve purpose thirty years later?”. Decluttering does not pertain to only clothing or home goods.

You can apply it in EVERY area of your life!

Conclusion

Changing careers at 40 can give you a new look at life. The key is letting go of what’s not working and creating a support team. Allowing your brilliance to impact the world will make a more considerable difference than staying in your head. Check out my blog “Managing My Peace During Turbulent Times” for other support. It is NEVER too late.
